Verified Family Reviews for Journey's End
"Dr Sernik helped us out on short notice when our 12 yr old lab/pit mix Amy developed fluid around her heart and heart failure. The ER vet said likely from cancer and didn’t have long to live, days maybe. My husband was vehement that he wanted her to go at home to tried to find someone who could come same day. After 3 other docs couldn’t come either due to schedule or don’t service our area, Dr Sernik agreed to come. She was wonderful, compassionate, caring and supportive of Amy and us. She explained everything well and took her time (which would not have been the case at the vet hospital). Amy got the quiet ending she deserved. Thank you."
"I never thought I would write a review for something like this, but here we are. Dr. Sernik made the worst day of my life as good as it could possibly be. I am so grateful for the compassion, thoughtfulness, and end of life service that was provided. This was my first experience going through this kind of loss and I knew that I wanted it to be as comfortable for my dog as it possibly could be. He passed in his favorite spot at home with me by his side and I couldn't have imagined it being any more peaceful. Dr. Sernik was incredibly thoughtful with giving me the time I needed to be ready and making sure he was comfortable. My biggest take away was the care given after he had passed. He was still treated with the respect and dignity that my best friend deserved. I am very appreciative of the keepsakes we received and cherish every bit of him that we have. I hope to not need this service often in my life, but grateful it is there."
"When we finally knew our 17-year old cat Damian was too tired and weak, my brother and sister in law reached out to Dr. Sernick after receiving a referral from another family member. Damian had kidney disease, and after his diagnosis, my mother did everything she could to provide him with extra care to prolong his life, including IV injection, and we were lucky to have several more years with him that we wouldn't have had. Damian was the sweetest fuzzy baby and angel, so when this day came it felt gut-wrenching. However, Dr. Sernick was so patient. She cared for him in my brother and sister in law's bedroom where he often comfortably slept on their fluffy comforter, wrapped in his little blanket. This was such a better experience than taking him to a vet in the car in the cold (it was winter), where he would have been panicked. During the visit, Dr. Sernick asked questions about Damian's life which allowed us to reminisce and slightly eased the pain. She treated him with such dignity through the whole process. She wrote the most heartfelt letter to our family afterwards, and his remains were packaged so beautifully. We are incredibly grateful for her taking what feels like an impossible moment and easing us through it."
